Rural housing under the livelihood influence has characteristics that distinguish it from urban housing. The most significant point in contemporary architecture is the excessive use of non-renewable energies. The main reason for this is the lack of desirable design regardless of climatic conditions. Therefore, the correct utilization of local materials in rural areas such as renewable energy can improve thermal comfort conditions. One of the important issues in saving energy in rural areas is that rural settlements face additional problems, including lack of access to the gas network, fuel supply costs, fuel transportation maintenance risks, and electricity costs. In this study, the effectiveness of wall insulation in the cold climate of rural housing is investigated in Markazi province. In the meantime, according to the living conditions, the insulation of walls exposed to heat exchange should be considered a first step. Therefore, the purpose of this study, apart from optimizing external walls, is to consider thermal comfort. In this research, the principle is to examine the energy consumption of rural housing in the desired area without imposing excessive costs, with the most basic solutions. Manuscript profile

In recent years, living in residential complexes can be considered one of the most important developments in housing, which has become a form of contemporary living and housing in cities. Also, with the excessive growth of residential complexes and their physical development, we sometimes see a decline in the quality of residential spaces, which has caused various problems in the lives of the residents of these complexes. In this regard, the crises arising from apartment living have created a wide range of mental disorders, such as stress, anxiety, depression, etc. The current research is based on the evaluation and analysis of the impact of the physical components of the environment on mental health; so that the results may open the way for the design of healthy and growing residential spaces. In order to measure people's mental health and examine the environmental elements, the GHQ-12 standard questionnaire was used, and the environment's physical components were taken into consideration. Also, a researcher-made questionnaire was prepared based on the environment's influential physical components. This questionnaire was answered by 340 residents of different residential complexes in Shiraz, and SPSS software was used to analyze and process the information. The findings of the present research show that the physical environment of residential complexes has a fundamental role in life quality and consequently has the greatest negative impact on the mental health of the residents. As a result, it has been determined that there is a reliable relationship between human health and the surrounding physical environment. Also, it concluded that to ensure the mental health of residents, the physical components of residential environments should be taken into consideration and designers should try to improve and fix their defects. Gated communities have become a popular trend in residential development worldwide, which vary in size and type and have widespread negative impacts on urban life, public spaces, social cohesion, and governance. It is ranged from security concerns to lifestyle preferences due to their formation differing across regions. The present research evaluated development, history, dimensions, and outcomes of residential gated communities. In addition, it explores the reasons for choosing gated communities in Yazd. The research involved a qualitative approach, including questionnaires and interviews with residents. Most residents in Yazd do not prefer gated communities as a long-term lifestyle, instead opting for traditional apartment living. Economic incentives, such as government-provided housing loans, play a significant role in residents' choices. Understanding the impacts and motivations behind gated community development helps shed light on the complexities of this prevalent trend in residential development. Manuscript profile

Unlike many contemporary urban constructions that have lost their Iranian identity and are developed without consideration for cultural values and principles of sustainable and Iranian architecture. Still in the villages of Iran, due to its high age and Valuable texture, a proportionate and homogeneous collection can be observed, in which the connections, functions and roles of the spaces in housing encompass a proportionate socio-economic and cultural system. The villages of Venan and Kohandan Baft are relatively valuable in terms of native architecture and worthy of study, with the existing types of rural housing in this article being among the examples examined in this research. In this study, the villages have been studied in terms of settlement, appearance, landscape, texture, and housing, and they have been analyzed from two perspectives: the assessment of the climatic pattern and the assessment of the spatial-functional pattern. In this research, since the characteristics of the village need to be examined, a qualitative method is used to describe the data and examine a case study, and an analytical method is used to draw conclusions from the collected data. Furthermore, the method of collecting information involves using library sources to gather basic information, followed by field studies through visiting and observing the village sites.
